Volume 2, part 111 December 2021 of Archaeologia, a Journal of South Asian Archaeology published by the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Social Sciences was launched on 15^th February 2022 under the patronage of Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor, University of Kelaniya.

At the same time, the vice-chancellor launched the official website of Archaeologia.

Archaeologia is a peer-review journal published in May and December. The main objective of this journal is to invite original research papers based on a broad scope of themes related to Archaeology in South Asia. The Dean of the faculty of Social Sciences, Prof.M.M Gunatilake. Chair, Senior Professor of Archaeology, Prishanta Gunawardhana, and academic members of the Department of Archaeology and members from the Computer Center of the faculty participated in the occasion.
