Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Department of Archaeology, Sri Lanka and the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya.

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Department of Archaeology, Sri Lanka and the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya to hold in hand together in the Giribawa, Pabalugala Archaeological Research Project.

This event was held on 29th of March 2022 under the patronage of subject minister Vidura Wickramanayake. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva on behalf of the University of Kelaniya, and the Director General of Archeology, Prof. Anura Manatunga on behalf of the Department of Archeology.

Secretary of the State Ministry of National Heritage, Performing Arts and Rural Arts Promotion Affairs, Ms. Nishanthi Jayasinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. M.M. Gunathilake, Director of the Centre for Heritage Studies, Dr. Mangala Katugampola, Head of the Department of Archaeology, Dr. Sriyani Hathurusinghe, Ms. Upeksha Senewirathne, the Legal Officer of the Department of Archaeology, Sri Lanka Deputy Director (Excavation) Mr. Samindha Poorabage, Research Assistant (Archaeology) Ms. Reshani Dharmawardhana, Mr. Harendralal Namalgamuwa, Lecturer of the Department of Archaeology and Ms. Sithumi Dilsha, the Research Assistant of the Centre for Heritage Studies participated in this event.
