The Colors Award Ceremony for the years 2023 & 2024, organized by the Department of Physical Education and the Sports Council, was held successfully on the 16^th of January 2025, at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Computing and Technology, University of Kelaniya.

Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, graced the event as the chief guest. The event was also attended by distinguished guests, including Senior Professor S. R. D. Kalingamudali, Chairman of the Sports Advisory Board, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies; Prof. Madawa Chandratilake, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; and Prof. Dhammika Weerasinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Technology.

A total of 530 athlete undergraduates from various sports at the University of Kelaniya were awarded colors for both the years 2023 and 2024. The Best Sportswoman Award for 2023 was received by Ms. B. L. S. Mendis, while the Best Sportswoman Award for 2024 was awarded to Ms. Niklesha Tharushi. Mr. Sandev Senarathna was honored with the Best Sportsman Award for both 2023 and 2024.

Furthermore, 17 graduates who demonstrated outstanding academic performance with First Class Honours and remarkable excellence in sports received the prestigious "Academic and Sports Excellence" award at the ceremony.
