Ms. Rasara Wijesuriya and Ms. Sayuri Mendis, third-year undergraduates of the Bachelor of Science Honours in Sports Science degree programme at the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya, have been selected to represent the Sri Lanka National Athletics Team at the 26^th Asian Athletics Championship 2025. The championship will be held from 27^th to 31^st May 2025 in Gumi, South Korea.

Rasara Wijesuriya is set to compete in the 5000m and 10,000m events, while Sayuri Mendis will participate as a member of the 4x400m relay team.

Mr. I. M. Ranasinghe, Senior Lecturer (Temporary) at the Sports & Exercise Science Unit of the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya, will accompany the team as a coach. Mr. Saman Kumara, Acting Director of Physical Education at the University of Kelaniya and Secretary General of Sri Lanka Athletics, will serve as the Manager of the National Team.
