Ms. D. S. R. Chamodi Kaveesha Gunawardana, a 4^th Year Undergraduate of the Faculty of Science following the BSc Honours in Sports Science degree program and the Captain of the University of Kelaniya Hockey (Women’s) Team for the year 2025,

Ms. Thasuni Navodya Malwanna, 4^th Year Undergraduate of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies following the B.B.Mgt. (Hons.) in Marketing degree program, and Mr. K. Keith Joshua, a 1st Year undergraduate of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies following the B.B.Mgt. (Hons.) in Finance degree program, of the University of Kelaniya have been selected to represent the Sri Lanka Universities Combined Hockey Teams (Men’s and Women’s) at the upcoming Senior National Hockey Championship 2025.

Notably, Chamodi Gunawardana has also been appointed as the Captain of the Women’s Team, recognizing her outstanding leadership and exceptional performance on the field.

The Championship will take place from 24th to 27th July 2025 at the Astro Hockey Turf Complex, Colombo 07, bringing together the best hockey players from across the island.

Selections were finalized based on a competitive trial session conducted on 3rd July 2025 at the University of Colombo. Chamodi, Thasuni, and Keith displayed remarkable skill, commitment, and teamwork, earning their well-deserved spots in the national university squads.
