Message to the University community from the acting Vice Chancellor

Message to the University community from the acting Vice Chancellor

Dear students and fellow staff members,

The university is opening for all academic activities on the 19th August 2020 after a lapse of over five months. I wish to apprise you on three areas at this important juncture. Firstly, I must emphasise that discipline at all levels must be maintained. We must all strive to achieve this through self-discipline and conduct ourselves with mutual respect to one another in order to create a safe and sound environment for learning. In this endeavour, the involvement of the entire university community is of paramount importance. Secondly, we must remember that the COVID-19 pandemic is not yet over, and we all have our individual role to play. In this context we must continue safe hygienic practices and maintain social distancing at all times. Finally, Council of the University recently nominated three Professors for the post of Vice Chancellor and very soon we will have a new Vice Chancellor to steer the University forward. I thank all students and staff at all levels for the support extended to me in carrying out my duties in the post of Vice Chancellor during the past few months. Stay safe and strive hard to achieve greater heights.
