Following the safety guidelines, precautions, and protocols the 121^st General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 31st of January 2022 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). 

During the first session, four hundred graduands of Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences were awarded.

During the second session, four hundred and eighty-four graduands of Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences were awarded.

Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Aggamahapandit Most Ven. Prof. Kollupitiye Mahinda Sangharakkitha Maha Thera, Chief Incumbent of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Kithsiri Mewan Vihara, Former Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Cadre Chair & Senior Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Deans, Directors of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Directors and Chairpersons of the Units and Centres, Heads of the Departments, academic staff members, Registrar, non-academic staff members, and parents were among the participants of this special ceremony.
