A team from the University of Kelaniya wins the second runner-up of the IET 150 & beyond - "Innovative solutions for waste management" competition for the idea of "Scalable and sustainable solution for e-Waste Management with hands-on experience".

The competition was organized by the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Young Professional Sri Lankan Network in celebration of the 150^th anniversary of IET. The grand final of the competition was held at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo, on 18 June 2022.

The undergraduates that represented the team from the University of Kelaniya were Mr. T.S.U. Rathnamalala, Mr. J.K.H.V. Jayaneththi, Mr. K.L.A.C. Lakshan, Ms. A.K. Saraph and Mr. M.W.S. Dilshan from the Department of Physics and Electronics, Faculty of Science and was under the supervision of Dr. Jehan Seneviratne and Dr. Aruna Ranaweera.
