The Ambassador from the Republic of Korea Visited the University of Kelaniya

H.E. Ambassador Santhush Woonjin JEONG from the Republic of Korea visited the University of Kelaniya on 29th July 2022 and met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Nilanthi de Silva
& few other academic staff members, including the Head of the Department of Modern Languages, Prof. Dilrukshi Ratnayaka, lecturers in the Department of Korean Language, and a few faculty and Library members who completed post-graduate studies in Korea. Further, the Embassy Secretary Ms. So Yeon Lim and Research and Public Relations officer Charya Gamlath also joined the meeting.
They had a constructive and fruitful discussion regarding the areas of mutual interest, including Korean language and education cooperation. Everyone had an excellent opportunity to share thoughts, opinions and new ideas with the Korean Ambassador and get support for the development of Korean Language studies in the University of Kelaniya and in Sri Lanka. At the same time, discussions were held to improve many other opportunities to connect South Korea and Sri Lanka through the University of Kelaniya.
Moreover, Ambassador Santhush and Prof. Nilanthi carried out the “END Violence” campaign, the global SNS campaign to help protect children from all forms of violence, including armed conflicts and natural disasters.
