Events on Internationalization under the Erasmus+ TOOLKIT Project

Two events were conducted by the Centre for International Affairs to disseminate knowledge on internationalization and to share the experiences of mobility grantees under work package 5 of the TOOLKIT Project.
“Round Table Conference on Internationalization for Academic and Administrative Staff” was conducted as a hybrid event at the Senate Room and online on 23rd August 2022 under the auspices of the Vice Chancellor, Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva. Six Erasmus alumni from the academic staff and senior administrative staff shared the mobility experiences and the benefits gained. The Registrar, Mr. K. K. K. Dharmathilaka addressed the gathering on the significance of internationalization. The Director, Centre for International Affairs presented an overview of international activities and contribution by Erasmus projects to enhance the visibility of the university over the last decade.
“University of Kelaniya Student Conference on Internationalization” was conducted as a webinar on 24th August to facilitate a larger audience. Students were registered for the event through an open call and a Google form. Over 450 participants joined the webinar with the majority from the first year. Erasmus alumni and other scholarship grantees among the students shared their experience gained during their mobility and how the exposure benefited them professionally and personally. International Alumni of the university also shared their experiences and the skills they acquired during their stay at Kelaniya. The Director, Centre for International Affairs presented an overview of mobility grants, opportunities and international activities available for the students.
