University of Kelaniya's Sports Science student, Ms. Sayuri Lakshima Mendis, has achieved an outstanding feat at the Asian Athletics Championships 2023 held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The competitions were held at the Supachalasai National Stadium in Bangkok from 12 to 16 July 2023.

Mendis, along with her team, secured the silver medal in the 4x400m relay event. Representing the university and showcasing exceptional teamwork, athleticism, and determination, Mendis's achievement highlights the institution's commitment to sporting excellence.

Joining the new batch of Sports Science students in 2021/2022, at the University of Kelaniya, Mendis's success serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes.
