The first-ever Multidisciplinary Desk Research Conference in Asia organized by the Library of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 6^th of December 2023 at the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya. The conference aimed to raise the profiles of research studies derived from secondary sources.

The conference covered a spectrum of disciplines, including Arts and Humanities, Commerce and Management Studies, Science, Technology, Medicine, and Social Sciences. Each discipline featured a leading paper delivered by an eminent subject expert, complemented by over 75 scholarly research papers presented by esteemed academic staff members and postgraduate students.

Noteworthy keynote speakers include Emeritus Professor Ariyarathna Kaluarachchi, former Vice Chancellor of Visual and Performing Arts; Senior Professor D. W. R. K. Somadeva from the Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology, University of Kelaniya; Professor Senaka Rajapakse, Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo; and Professor Anuradhani Kasthuriratne from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya.

The conference was graced by the esteemed presence of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, serving as the Chief Guest. The Librarian Dr. C.C. Jayasundara, and the Staff of the Library, Deans of the Faculties, Heads of the Departments, and Academic Staff representing all the Faculties of the University of Kelaniya graced the conference as guests of honor.
