Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 24^th of January 2024 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the Deans of the Faculties, Heads of the Departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Dr. Rasika Rajapaksha of the Department of Computer Systems Engineering was the awardee from the Faculty of Computing and Technology.

Senior Prof. L. D. Amarasinghe, Prof. U. P. K. Epa, and Ms. J. Yasoda Kumari of the Department of Zoology and Environmental Management, Prof. W. M. J. I. Wijayanayake, and Mr. Chamindu Kasun Karunarathna of the Department of Industrial Management, Prof. A. L. A. K. Ranaweera of the Department of Physics and Electronics, Ms. Priyangi Edirisinghe, and Prof. R. N. Attanayake of the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology, Prof. Nishani Vasana Chandrasekara, and Ms. Jayawardana Dahanayaka Tenushi Erandi of the Department of Statistics and Computer Science were the awardees from the Faculty of Science.

Dr. Wasala Mudalige Priyantha of the Department of Political Sciences was the awardee from the Faculty of Social Sciences.
