Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 27^th of November 2024 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals, were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the deans of the faculties, heads of the departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Mr. U. J Mirando of the Department of Marketing Management was the awardee from the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.

Prof. Sachith Mettananda of the Department of Paediatrics was the awardee from the Faculty of Medicine.

Senior Prof. Priyani A. Paranagama and Prof. D. S. M. De Silva of the Department of Chemistry were the awardees from the Faculty of Science.

Prof. N. V. Chandrasekara and Ms. B. R. P. M. Basnayake of the Department of Statistics and Computer Science and Ms. W. H. L. Yehemini Jayatissa of the Department of Industrial Management from the Faculty of Science were awarded Senate Honours for Scopus-Indexed conference full papers.

Senior Prof. S. R. D. Kalingamudali, Prof. A. L. A. K. Ranaweera, and Dr. P. L. A. K. Piyumal of the Department of Physics and Electronics from the Faculty of Science were awarded Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for Research Leading Patent Outcome.

Furthermore, the occasion recognized and appreciated the invaluable contributions of three esteemed retired Senior Professors: Professor Shirley Lal Wijesinghe from the Department of Western Classical Culture & Christian Culture, Faculty of Humanities; Professor K. A. L. A. Kuruppuarachchi from the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine; and Professor R. P. C. Ranjani from the Department of Finance, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.
