Professor Colin Riordan, Secretary General of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and Mr. Aditya Malkani, Regional Director, Membership ‑ Asia Pacific, visited the University of Kelaniya on the 6^th of December 2024.

They met with Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya; Senior Professor Sudath Kalingamudali, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies; Professor M. M. Gunathilake, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences; Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; as well as recipients of ACU grants from among the academic staff of the University of Kelaniya, Professor Sujeewa de Silva and Dr. Kumudu Sumedha Sanjeewani. The discussion was held at the Vice-chancellor’s office, University of Kelaniya.

The University of Kelaniya is a long-standing member of the ACU, which has over 400 member universities in 41 countries across the Commonwealth.
