“Saptaka 2024,” the Grand Launching Ceremony of “UOK Pulse,” Official Music Ensemble of the University of Kelaniya, jointly organized by the Cultural Centre, Communication and Media Unit, and the Art Council of the University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on the 11^th of December 2024 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Computing and Technology, University of Kelaniya.

The event was graced by Professor M. M. Gunathilake, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences; Professor Bandara Wanninayake, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies; Dr. Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; Dr. Chamli Pushpakumara, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Technology; Dr. C. C. Jayasundara, Librarian of the University of Kelaniya; Professor Prashanthi Narangoda, Director of the National Centre for Advanced Studies in Humanities & Social Sciences (NCAS), University Grants commission and a Professor from the Department of Fine Arts, University of Kelaniya; Professor Jeewantha Premaratne, Chairman of the Kelaniya University Teachers’ Association (KUTA) and the Head of the Department of Chemistry; Professor Ravi Dissanayake, Director of the Staff Development Centre (SDC); Dr. Pradeep Samarasekara, Director of the Industry Interaction Cell for Computing and Technology (IICFCT); Senior Lecturer Saman Rajapakshe, Director of the Communication and Media Unit and the Managing Director of UoK Pulse; Professor Aruna Wanninayake, Head of the Software Engineering Teaching Unit; Senior Lecturer Lanka De Silva, Head of the Department of Fine Arts; Dr. Manoj Jinadasa from the Department of Mass Communication; Lecturer Milinda Tennakone, Coordinator of the Cultural Centre and the Music Director of UoK Pulse; and Mrs. Deepthi Basnayake of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

Additionally, the event witnessed the participation of the academic and non-academic staff, students and their parents.
