Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 24^th of September 2025 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals, were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the deans of the faculties, heads of the departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Mr. H. M. M. N. Herath from the Department of Accountancy, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, received Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for having his research published in a Scopus Q1-ranked journal and listed among the Top 10%.

Prof. Nayana Gunathilaka from the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, received Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for having his research published in a Scopus Q2-ranked journal.

Dr. C. R. Oruthotaarachchi from the Department of Industrial Management, Faculty of Science, received Senate Honours and a cash prize for publishing her research in a Scopus Q1-ranked journal. Prof. Dinushani Anupama Daranagama from the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology, and Ms. S. N. M. Nimasha Dilhani Kumarihamy Arambepola from the Software Engineering and Teaching Unit, also received Senate Honours and cash prizes for their publications in Scopus Q2-ranked journals. In addition, Senior Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage from the Department of Chemistry, along with Ms. A. Harshani Dilrukshi Alahakoon and Ms. B. K. Dilmi M. Rodrigo from the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology, Faculty of Science, were recognized with Senate Honours and cash prizes for their research published in Scopus Q3- and Q4-ranked journals.

Dr. Nilantha Dinesh Ramanayaka from the Department of Sport Science and Physical Education, Faculty of Social Sciences, received Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for having his research published in a Scopus Q1-ranked journal.

Dr. S. P. Kasthuri Arachchi from the Department of Software Engineering and Dr. Madusha Chandrasena, Mr. Kumanayakage Madhushka Piyumal, and Mr. Maddumage Vinu Vihan Perera from the Department of Computer Systems Engineering, Faculty of Computing and Technology received Senate Honours for Scopus-Indexed Conference Full Papers.

Prof. N. V. Chandrasekara, Ms. B. R. P. M. Basnayake, and Ms. Shehani Fernando from the Department of Statistics and Computer Science, and Dr. Isuru Udayangani Hewapathirana from the Software Engineering Teaching Unit, Faculty of Science received Senate Honours for Scopus-Indexed Conference Full Papers.

Dr. A. M. S. Achala Abeykoon from the Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences received Senate Honours for Indexed Book Chapters.
