Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 26^th of November 2025 at the Senate Room of the university.

Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals, were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the deans of the faculties, heads of the departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.

Prof. W. M. C. B. Wanninayake from the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies; Prof. Sachith Mettananda from the Department of Paediatrics and Dr. C. W. Subasinghe from the Department of Biochemistry and Clinical Chemistry, Faculty of Medicine; and Dr. Shakya Bandara from the Department of Applied Computing, Faculty of Computing and Technology, received Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for having their research published in a Scopus Q1-ranked journal and listed among the Top 10%.

Prof. Sachith Mettananda from the Department of Paediatrics, Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Upeksha Perera from the Department of Mathematics, and Dr. Wasana de silva and Dr. Dona Vihara Sugandhika Kaluthanthri from the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology, Faculty of Science; and Ms. B. W. M. Kavindi Eranga Weerasinghe from the Department of Applied Computing, Faculty of Computing and Technology, received Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for having their research published in a Scopus Q1-ranked journal.

Prof. Sachith Mettananda from the Department of Paediatrics, and Prof. Nayana Gunathilaka and Ms. R. S. G. Thulangi Nayanaransi Siriwardana from the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine; and Prof. H. A. K. N. S. Surangi from the Department of Commerce and Financial Management and Ms. R. K. N. D. Darshani from the Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, received Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for having their research published in a Scopus Q2-ranked journal.

Dr. K. K. K. R. Perera from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, was recognized with Senate Honours and cash prizes for their research published in Scopus Q3- and Q4-ranked journals.

Dr. Muditha Tissera from the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Computing and Technology, and Dr. K. K. K. R. Perera from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, received Senate Honours for Scopus-Indexed Conference Full Papers.

Prof. H. A. K. N. S. Surangi from the Department of Commerce and Financial Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, received Senate Honours for Indexed Book Chapters.
