Another Session of Senate Awards held on the 26th of March 2026

Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 26th of March 2026 at the Senate Room of the university.
Researchers whose papers were published in internationally recognized journals, were appreciated and the Senate Awards and Cash Prizes were awarded to the researchers by Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya. Moreover, the deans of the faculties, heads of the departments, and members of the Senate graced the event.
Prof. H. A. K. N. S. Surangi from the Department of Commerce and Financial Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, received Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for having her research published in a Scopus Q1-ranked journal and listed among the Top 10%.
Prof. Amila Munasinghe from the Department of Accountancy, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, and Prof. C. S. K. Rajapakse from the Department of Chemistry and Prof. Anupama P. Halmillawewa from the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science, received Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for having their research published in a Scopus Q1-ranked journal.
Prof. Mohamed Jalaldeen Mohamed Razi from the Department of Commerce and Financial Management, and Ms P. W. G. Madhushani and Mr. A. J. P. Samarawickrama from the Department of Finance, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, and Mr Deshaka Jayakody and Ms Yasoda Kumari from the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, received Senate Honours and Cash Prizes for having their research published in a Scopus Q2-ranked journal.
Prof. D. M. R. Dissanayake from the Department of Marketing Management, Ms H. M. N. P. Herath from the Department of Finance, and Ms R. K. N. D. Darshani from the Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, and Prof. C. S. K. Rajapakse from the Department of Chemistry and Ms Asha Ishani Sri Priyadarshan from the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology, Faculty of Science, were recognized with Senate Honours and cash prizes for their research published in Scopus Q3- and Q4-ranked journals.
Dr Madusha Chandrasena from the Department of Computer Systems Engineering, Faculty of Computing and Technology, received Senate Honours for Scopus-Indexed Conference Full Papers.
