The 157th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held ceremoniously on the 27th of April 2026 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

The convocation ceremony consisted of 03 sessions. During the 1st session, 88 graduands of the Bachelor of Arts Degree, offered by the Faculty of Humanities, and 442 graduands of the Bachelor of Arts Degree, offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences, were conferred.

During the 2nd session, 101 graduands of the Bachelor of Arts Degree, offered by the Faculty of Humanities, and 429 graduands of the Bachelor of Arts Degree, offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences, were conferred.

During the 3rd session, 79 graduands of the Bachelor of Arts Degree, offered by the Faculty of Humanities, and 451 graduands of the Bachelor of Arts Degree, offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences, were conferred.

Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, the Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya; Deans of the Faculties; Heads of the Departments; Registrar; Librarian; Directors and Chairpersons of the Units and Centers; Academic and Non-Academic Staff; graduands; and their families graced the event.
