Ms. Franca Maria Murna, Officer in charge of Eastern Neighbouring Countries, Russia, Asia, Oceania and North America from the International Relations Division of Bologna University, Italy visited the university on 11^th December 2018 to introduce the Erasmus+ TOOLKIT Project and to hold preliminary discussions prior to the commencement of the project in 2019. Ms. Murna called upon the Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Lakshman Seneviratne and conducted an awareness session for the academic and administrative staff of the university. The visit was coordinated by the Centre for International Affairs.

University of Kelaniya is one of the main partners of the Erasmus+ CBHE TOOLKIT project on Capacity Building in Higher Education coordinated by University of Bologna, Italy. The project will commence in 2019 and will focus on further enhancing internationalization of partner universities, training of university staff and students and capacity building. The European partners include Bologna University, Italy, Uppsala University, Sweden and Vilnius University, Lithuania. Two Universities from Laos, three universities from Myanmar, University of Kelaniya and University of Peradeniya comprise the Asian partners.
