The 107^th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 21^st of February 2019 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH).

During the first session, hundred and four graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Humanities and three hundred and seventy- seven graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences were awarded the degrees.

Moreover, the convocation speech for the first session was delivered by former Vice- Chancellor Prof. Harischandra Abeygunawardena.

During the second session, two hundred and nine graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Humanities and two hundred and forty-five graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences were awarded the degrees.

Moreover, the convocation speech for the second session was delivered by Mr. Priyantha Mayadunne, Secretary- Ministry of City Planning, Water Supply and Ministry of Higher Education.

Thripitaka Vagishvaracharya, Mahopadhyaya, Pandith, the most Venerable Welamitiyawe Dharmakirthi Sri Kusala Dhamma Thero, – the Chief Prelate of the Colombo and Chilaw regions and the Chancellor of University of Kelaniya presided over the event. Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Senior Prof. Lakshman Senevirathne, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Mr. W.M. Karunarathne, Registrar, Deans of Faculties, Directors of Postgraduate Institutes, Directors of Institutes, Heads of Departments, academic staff members and parents were among the participants of this special ceremony.
