The 109^th General Convocation of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 27^th of August 2019 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH).

During the first session, ten graduands of Doctor of Philosophy Degree, six graduands of Master of Philosophy Degree, thirty-seven graduands of Master of Science Degree, three graduands of Master of Commerce Degree, ten graduands of Master of Social Sciences Degree, twenty graduands of Master of Business Administration Degree, twenty-four graduands of Master of Business Management in Marketing Degree, eight graduands of Master of Human Resource Management Degree,  hundred and twenty four graduands of Master of Arts Degree (Two Year), three graduands of Master of Science Degree (One Year), eighty six graduands of Master of Arts Degree (One Year) and nineteen graduands of Postgraduate Diploma offered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies were awarded the degrees.

Moreover, the convocation speech for the first session was delivered by Emeritus Prof. C.M. Madduma Bandara.

During the second session, sixty-nine graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Humanities, and three hundred and forty-nine graduands of Bachelor of Arts Degree offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences were awarded the degrees.

Moreover, the convocation speech for the second session was delivered by Emeritus Prof. Sarath Amunugama.

Senior Prof. Lakshman Senevirathne, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Deans of Faculties, Directors of Postgraduate Institutes, Directors of Institutes, Heads of Departments, academic staff members, Mr. W.M. Karunarathne, Registrar and parents were among the participants of this special ceremony.
