International Day of University Sport (IDUS), officially proclaimed by the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organisation (UNESCO) since 2016 was held for the first time in Sri Lanka on 20th of September 2020 at University of Kelaniya
An MoU was signed between the University of Kelaniya and Sri Lanka National Police Service on 23rd of September 2020 at the Senate Room, University of Kelaniya.
The revised MoU was re-signed with the objective of commencing a new BA degree program in Police Science for the academic development of police officers.
Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers in the University of Kelaniya was held on the 23rd of September 2020 at the Senate Room of the university.
The official website of University of Kelaniya won the golden award for the best website and the award for the most popular website of Universities & Educational Institutions category. The competition was organized by Bestweb.lk in 10th intake. The award ceremony held on 09th of September 2020 at Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo.
