The inauguration ceremony of the Orientation Programme for the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya, was held on the 10th of March 2025 at the Sri Dharmaloka Hall of the university. The event was organized by the Faculty of Science to welcome the new undergraduates of the 2023/2024 intake.

A group of 50 students from Wesley College visited the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya for an educational visit on the 20th of February 2025. The event was successfully hosted by the Faculty of Science in collaboration with the Alumni Association of Faculty of Science.
Ms. Jane Stewart, Professor at the Department of Agricultural Biology, University of Colorado, USA visited the University of Kelaniya and met with Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, on the 21st of February 2025 at the Vice-Chancellor’s office. The discussion was also attended by Prof. Renuka Attanayake and Senior Lecturer Ms. Priyangi Edirisinghe of the Department of Plant and Molecular Biology, University of Kelaniya.
The inauguration ceremony of the orientation program, organized by the Sports and Exercise Unit of the Faculty of Science to welcome the new batch of students to the BSc Honours in Sports Science Degree Program, was successfully held on the 24th of February 2025 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Science.
