The World Philosophy Day was celebrated at the University of Kelaniya at 9.00 am on the 17th of November 2022 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

It was organized by the Department of Philosophy under the guidance of Senior Lecturer D. D. R De Silva, Head of the Department. 

The resource person of the event was Dr. Prasanna Maduranga Fernando, Senior Lecturer, Department of Physics, University of Sri Jayawardanapura while the chief guest was Prof. M.M. Gunathileke, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Students and the Teachers of Gurukula Vidyalaya, in the Gampaha District, participated at this occasion while the academic and non-academic staff and undergraduates of the Department of Philosophy participated in the event. Moreover, undergraduates of the Philosophy Association volunteered in organizing the event.
