In accordance with the MOU signed between the Department of Archaeology, University of Kelaniya and the School of History and Culture, Sichuan University in China, four undergraduates of the Department of Archaeology, University of Kelaniya obtained an opportunity to take part in the Service Learning Program at Sichuan University, China.

It's designed to provide opportunity to gain university experience at Sichuan University and explore the unique West Chinese Culture, utilizing funds from the University.

Kalana Geeth Kumarathunga Gane Arachchige, Kasun Subashana Jayasuriya, Sithani Jayatissa Adimali Kankanamge, Sumali Dineshika Dasanayaka Dahanaka Arachchilage received the opportunity and the air tickets awarding ceremony was held on the 27^th of June 2019 at the Vice Chancellor's Office of University of Kelaniya.

Present at the occasion were Prof. D.M. Semasinghe-Vice Chancellor, Senior Lecturer Dr. Mangala Katugampola - Head, Department of Archaeology, Senior Prof. Anura Manatunga - Director, Centre for Heritage Studies, Senior Lecturer Dr. Chandima Bogahawatta and the academic staff members of Department of Archaeology.
