A seminar based on the theme “Sri Lanka-Indonesia relations; Reaching New Heights- 2020 and beyond” was held on 10^th of December, 2019 at the auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

This was jointly organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia-Colombo and the Department of International Studies, University of Kelaniya. His Excellency Mr. Gusti Ngurah Ardiyasa, Ambassador- Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Vice-Chancellor, University of Kelaniya attended in the event as the guest of honor.

The prime motive of the seminar was to make the students aware of the geopolitical significance and political and economic significance of Indonesia, as well as to enhance the knowledge among the students about Indonesia's role in ASEAN and to explain the nature and scope of Indonesia-Sri Lanka relations. Academic staff along with the undergraduates of the Department of International Studies participated in the seminar.
