The Inauguration Ceremony of the orientation program of the newly introduced BSc Honors Degree in Sports Science, of the Faculty of Science of the University of Kelaniya was held at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Science of the University on the 7th of June 2022.

A Sri Lankan team of students participated at the International Junior Science Olympiad which was held in Dubai, UAE, on 12-21 December The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is an annual individual and team competition in the Natural Sciences for students who are under sixteen years old on 31st December of the competition year. IJSO has been established in recognition of the significance of the Natural Sciences in general education.
