Inauguration of Diploma in Counselling: The inauguration ceremony of the 04th batch of Diploma in Counselling offered by the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya was held on the 09th of February 2019 at Dharmaloka Hall.
The inauguration ceremony of the Diploma in International Studies offered by the Department of International Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya was held on the 06th of January 2019 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Present at the occasion were Prof. A.H.M.H. Abayarathne, Dean- Faculty of Social Sciences, Senior Lecturer Thumira Jayasena, Head- Department of International Studies, academic staff members of the Department and newly enrolled students.
The distribution of the certificates to the students who have successfully completed the Diploma in Counselling offered by the Department of Philosophy, University of Kelaniya was held on the 06th of January 2019 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. A.H.M.H. Abayarathne, Dean- Faculty of Social Sciences. Present at the occasion were Senior Lecturer Dr. Tharanga Dharaneetha, Head- Department of Philosophy, Senior Lecturer Ven. Kumbukandana Rewatha Thero, Course Coordinator, academic staff members of the Department, invited resource persons and diploma holders who have successfully completed the Diploma.
The Political Journal published by the Political Science Students’ Association of the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya was launched on the 17th of December 2018 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The journal was launched with the objective of improving writing skills and knowledge of the undergraduates who follow B.A. (Special) Degree in Political Science.
Dr. Sagara Chandrasekara, Human Resource Development Institute, University of Colombo was the resource person of the event and he emphasized on the way to conduct and publish research studies.
