“Pranama 2016/17” awards ceremony organized by the Welfare Association of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 28th of August 2018 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The ceremony was held with the objective of appreciating the retired non-academic staff members and the children of the non- academic staff members who performed well in the G.C.E (O/L) and G.C.E (A/L) in the years of 2016 and 2017 and who passed the Grade 5 scholarship examination.

The launch of the book “Manual of Zen” translated by Prof. S.B. Hettiarachchi and Dr. Bhikkhu Ho Beop was held on the 29th of August at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The book is composed as an English translation of a collection of Zen stories written by Dahui.
