  1. M. Savindu Dilshara, a student at the University of Kelaniya, secured first place in the University Grants Commission's (UGC) competition for innovative solutions to gender-specific problems, held in celebration of International Women's Day 2025. The awards ceremony took place on the 11th of March 2025 at the UGC Auditorium. This prestigious achievement marks a significant milestone for the University of Kelaniya, as Dilshara outperformed competitors from state universities across the country.

The Centre for Sustainability Solutions (CSS) at the University of Kelaniya (UOK), launched the latest edition of GreenInsight E-Magazine under the theme "Towards a Sustainable Tomorrow: Climate Action in Focus," on the 11th of March 2025. This edition serves as a critical platform for discussion, innovation, and action in response to the growing environmental challenges faced worldwide.

A delegation from Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, India, comprising Professor P. Vijaya Lakshmi, Dean of the Centre for International Relations; Professor N. Rajani, Registrar; and Professor R. Usha, Associate Dean of the Centre for International Relations, visited the University of Kelaniya on the 7th of March 2025 for discussions on avenues for future cooperation.
