Senior Professor C. D. S. Wettewe was reappointed as the Director of the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Kelaniya for a period of 3 years with effect from 15th February 2024. As the Director of the CGU, she was instrumental in introducing innovative programmes to engage students in CGU activities during challenging times and for inspiring students to be life-long learners.
The Staff Development program for probationary lecturers (Circle 26) has commenced at the Staff Development Centre, University of Kelaniya. The program started on the 16th of February 2024 at the Auditorium of the Staff Development Centre. This program aims to provide valuable training and support to probationary lecturers from various institutions.
The Nestle Open Day was held on the 13th of February 2024 at the CGU Auditorium coinciding with Career Fair UoK 2024.
The Centre for International Affairs and the German Section of the Department of Modern Languages were privileged to host the German novelist Ms. Ronya Othmann, author of the best-selling novel “Die Sommer” (The Summers) at the university on 7th February 2024 at the Boardroom of the Faculty of Humanities.
