The launch of the new official website of the Library of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 08^th of January 2019 at the Senate Room of the University. The new website was launched with the objective of introducing new facilities to the library users.

The event was held under the patronage of the Vice- Chancellor, Prof. D.M. Semasinghe. Present at the occasion were Deans of Faculties, Dr. C.C. Jayasundara, Librarian and the members of the Library Committee.

Discussion between the University of Kelaniya and the Michigan State University, USA was held on the 17^th of December 2018 at the Office of the Vice- Chancellor. Exploring the possibilities of future collaborations, especially in undergraduate training and encouraging research collaborations between the two universities.

The discussion was led by Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Vice- Chancellor representing the University of Kelaniya and Prof. Sherman Garnett, Dean- James Madison College & Prof. Linda Racioppi, Associate Dean for Research International Relations- James Madison College representing the Michigan State University.
