Retired Professor Jinadasa Danansooriya, former Head of the Department of Sinhala at the University of Kelaniya, received the prestigious Sāhitya Ratna Award at the State Literary Awards 2024. The ceremony was held on November 27, 2024, at the Temple Trees premises in Colombo.

Delegation from O. P. Jindal Global University, India visits University of Kelaniya
Assistant Professor Rahul Bhandari, Joint Director and Head of the Office of Institutional Advancement & Strategic Global Engagement (IASGE), and Assistant Professor Gaurav Shuka, Director of Career Services, Jindal Global Law School visited the University of Kelaniya and met with Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya on the 21st of November 2024 at the Vice-chancellor’s office.

University of Kelaniya Sponsors the Students to Represent the University at the 8th Edition of India International Folk Festival
The cultural troupe of the Department of Fine Arts, University of Kelaniya, has been selected to participate in the 8th India International Folk Festival in India, scheduled to take place from the 24th of November to the 2nd of December 2024 at Purana Qila, Central Park, Kartavya Path, and Kamini Auditorium in New Delhi, India.
