07th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 26th of November 2018 at the Auditorium of the Staff Development Centre. The lecture was held with the objective of commemorating the great heroes on behalf of bicentennial celebration of 1818 rebellion.

Senior Prof. Anura Manathunga, Director- Centre for Heritage Studies conducted the lecture emphasizing on the service rendered by the natives including the Monarawila Keppetipola associating information mentioned in classics and folk tales.

Moreover, “Walapane Satana” short film by Munidasa Punchihewa was also screened at the programme.

The third of the “Hands on Heritage” workshop series organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies was held on the 05th and 06th of October 2018 at the university premises. The first session of the workshop was held on the 05th at the Library Lecture Hall and its second session was held on the 06th at the Computer Lab of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

06th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 08th of October 2018 at the Auditorium of the Staff Development Centre. The lecture was held with the objective of improving reserach knowledge on ‘Stone Tool Technology’.

05th lecture of the lecture series on heritage studies organized by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 26th of September 2018 at the Auditorium of the Staff Development Centre. “Cultural Heritage of Pondicherry” was the theme of the lecture series which was held with the objective of broadening the knowledge regarding ‘Tangible and Intangible Heritage’.
