Another Session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 22nd of December 2022 at the Senate Room of the university.

The University of Kelaniya was ranked as the leading Green University among the Sri Lankan Universities in the UI GreenMetric Ranking 2022, by advancing in its global rank from 247 in 2021 to 241 in 2022, out of the 1050 universities which applied for the UI GreenMetric Ranking in 2022.
The German novelist Christopher Kloeble visited the university on 13th December 2022 for a reading from his book "Das Museum der Welt" (The Museum of the World).
