The awards ceremony “Presidential Awards for Inventions – Year 2017 to 2020” was held on the 1st of August 2024 at the BMICH, under the patronage of His Excellency the President of Sri Lanka, Honourable Ranil Wickremesinghe.

A delegation of fifteen (15) delegates from the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea, along with representatives of six (06) major South Korean universities, visited the University of Kelaniya on the 02nd of July 2024. The delegates were received by Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva, Vice-chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, at the Vice-chancellor’s office.
The University of Kelaniya was awarded the Merit Trophy of Commendation in the “Best Government Institution that Contributes to the Environment” category for its excellent contribution towards environmental conversation and sustainability at the prestigious Presidential Environment Awards Ceremony 2024, conducted by the Central Environmental Authority of the Ministry of Environment, on 28th June 2024, at the Main Hall, BMICH.
Another session of presenting Senate Awards and Cash Prizes to appreciate the researchers at the University of Kelaniya was held on the 25th of April 2024 at the Senate Room of the university.
