SAARC Exhibition of Paintings jointly organized by the Center for Heritage Studies, University of Kelaniya and Visual Arts & Design and Performing Arts Unit, Department of Fine Arts, University of Kelaniya was held on the 22nd of January 2019 at Senake Bandaranayake Building, University of Kelaniya.

The inauguration ceremony of the 06th batch of Master of Arts in Dancing Degree Programme offered by the Visual Arts, Design & Performing Arts Unit of the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya was held on the 05th of January 2018 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

KELF 2018 (Kelaniya English Literary Festival) organized by the Department of English, University of Kelaniya was held on the 04th of December 2018 at the Kotahena Sri Pragnakeerthi Memorial Hall. The festival was organized with the objective of celebrating life and work of late Chair Professor Manique Gunesekera.

The event also featured a panel discussion on “creativity and publishing in contemporary Sri Lankan English writing” with writers Vivimarie VanderPoorten, Nayomi Munaweera, and Ameena Hussein. The main speaker of this session was Professor Carmen Wickramagamage of the University of Peradeniya

“Thaa 2018” cultural show jointly organized by Visual Arts, Design & Performing Arts Unit of the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya and Performing Arts Students’ Association was held on the 21st of November 2018 at Dharmaloka Hall. Developing and appreciating the creative skills of the students were the prime objectives of the show.

“Thaa 2018” which is being organized in relation to course units of undergraduate degree programmes relevant to Performing Arts was made more fascinating by the novel creations of the undergraduates.
