Prof. Nilmini Gunawardena was appointed as the new Head of the Molecular Medicine Unit, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya. The appointment letter was handed over to the Head by the Vice- Chancellor, Prof. D.M. Semasinghe on the 22nd of August 2019 at the Vice- Chancellor’s Office.
The Ayati Center- Sri Lanka’s first National Center for Children with Disabilities, was ceremonially handed over by the Sri Lankan Army to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Kelaniya and Ayati Trust Sri Lanka on the 18th of July 2019.
The third annual Faculty of Medicine Excellence Awards ceremony was held on Thursday 1st August 2019. Pioneered by the Faculty of Medicine, this awards scheme is the first of its kind in the Sri Lankan University system, designed to enhance the quality of the study programmes offered by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya.
