Pioneered by the Faculty of Medicine, this awards scheme is the first of its kind in the Sri Lankan University system, designed to enhance the quality of the study programmes offered by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya.

18 Kelaniya University Academics Receive President’s Awards for Scientific Publication
18 academic staff members of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya received President’s Awards for Science Publication. They received the awards for Research and Scientific Publication in the year 2016.
The ceremony which was jointly organized by the Presidential Secretariat, National Research Council and Ministry of Science, Technology and Research was held under the patronage of His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena, the President of Sri Lanka on the 19th of November 2018 at the Hotel Taj Samudra, Colombo. 338 scientists and researchers were appreciated at the ceremony which was graced by Hon. Mohan Lal Grero, State Minister of Science, Technology and Research.
