The Ambassador for France in Sri Lanka, Mr. Eric Lavertu visited the University of Kelaniya on the 22nd of July 2019 to meet the Vice Chancellor, Prof. D.M. Semasinghe and the staff members of the French Unit of the Department of Modern Languages.
An all-night pirith chanting ceremony and alms giving ceremony for the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute affiliated to the University of Kelaniya was held on the 18th and 19th of July 2019 at the institute premises.
Senior Assistant Librarian, Dr. M. I. G. Suranga Sampath of the University of Kelaniya was awarded the HUST Academic Excellence Award for the research papers published in peer reviewed journals indexed in Science Citation Index in the academic year 2017/2018.
