The Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanisms has taken steps to introduce Transitional Justice to the curriculums of the University of Kelaniya.
University of Kelaniya (UoK) Sri Lanka Collaborating with CQUniversity to Offer a Dual Award: University of Kelaniya and CQUniversity, Australia signed an agreement on the 20th of February 2019 at the CQUniversity in Melbourne. Prof. D. M. Semasinghe, Vice- Chancellor, University of Kelaniya, Prof. Ariyarthna Jayamaha, Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Prof. Peter Best, Head, Department of Accounting CQUniversity, Prof. Lee di Milia, Dean, School of Business and Law at CQUniversity signed the agreement.
‘As Issaraha’: the very first poetry collection of Krishan Rathnayake, a 4th year undergraduate of the University of Kelaniya was launched on the 21st of February 2019 at Mahaweli Centre, Colombo. The book was launched as a Sarasavi publication. Mr. Shashika Diyamantha and the young poets: Mr. Dilshan Pathirathne & Mr. Lahiru Kithalagama were present at the occasion and expressed their ideas on the book.
Forty academic and non- academic staff members were being appreciated by the Vice- Chancellor, Prof. D.M. Semasinghe on the 28th of February 2019 at the Senate Room of the university. They were appreciated for their extra special dedication and service during the welcome ceremony & orientation programme for freshers and the process of providing hostel facilities for the first year undergraduates.
